Pooch Food : Peanut Butter Biscuits
If the way Sugar and Paris behave around peanut butter is any indication, I am making a bold speculation that the peanut butter biscuits will be a great hit with the 27 furkids estimated to turn up for the BBQ.
The ingredients used and the way the dough is prepared before entering the oven is not so dissimilar to the peanut butter cookies I made for The Hubby once. If time permits, I shall endeavour to ensure that he returns home to the familiar aroma of his all-time favourite cookies next Tuesday. Naturally a picture and the recipe shall follow suit.
Now, back to the peanut butter biscuits for the furkids.
Peanut Butter Biscuits
1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup oats
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup water
- Preheat oven to 160°C.
- Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, oats and wheat germ, mixing well.
- Gradually add in the peanut butter, vegetable oil, honey and water to the dry ingredients. Mix well.
- Use the mixture to form 1 1/2-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Flatten the balls with a fork dipped in flour frequently to prevent sticking.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool on wire rack.
Yield : 15 biscuits
The biscuits really smell heavenly! And tasted just as good as they smelled! I bet to my last dollar this will be the hot favourite!
