Baking Class : Choux Pastries

Baking Class - Choux Pastry

The grand finale of the pastry-making class I have been attending… Choux (pronounced as “shoo”) pastry! Don’t the cream puffs, chocolate eclairs and swan pastries look delectable? Yummy!

Choux pastries are a lot easier to bake than I imagine them to be. But I seriously need more practice in learning how to pipe the roux. The cream puffs turned out looking great, but the shape of the eclairs… are a little lacking in quality.

Looking forward to the start of the cake module in 2 weeks’ time!

  3. Thanks very much for sharing the site. I am looking forward to attend some proper classes then always anyhow bake without knowing why it turn out like that. I have tried baking cupcakes but wasn’t sure if mine turn out correct, the texture is kinda firm, is it right?

Oh, I forgot to say your website is very neat, easy to navigate and food pixs are well taken.

You’re welcome, winterbiscuit. There’s a cake-baking class starting on 29 July. Join that class, then we will become classmates!

Cupcakes texture are a little more firm than normal cakes, I think. I’m no expert too. Maybe you try going to my blogroll and check out the blogs of cupcakes experts out there.

Thank you for your kind compliments.

  8. Hi Passion,

Thanks for dropping by, and do let me know how your oreo cupcakes turned out.

I’m afraid I can’t share the recipe of the choux pastry due to copyright restrictions. Why don’t you email me your recipe, I take a look and let you know how you can improve on it?

I’m so sorry about it. :(
