Pooch Food : Potatoes Au Canine
Feeling a little under the weather, hence I absent myself from work today with a medical chit. And decided to bake a special dinner for my 2 golden retrievers since they were so well-behaved during their baths yesterday night.
This recipe is one I’ve been wanting to try out for the longest time. What stopped me from doing so is the lack of information on the yield size of the final product. Anyhow, I finally decided to try it out today on th smallest sized casserole found in my kitchen - an 8 x 8 inch square glass casserole.
Potatoes Au Canine
3 cups boiled potatoes, sliced
(or subsitute with cooked oatmeal/cooked brown rice)
2 tbsp mixed vegetables
1/2 cup creamed cottage cheese
1 tbsp nutritional yeast
2 tbsp grated carrots
1/4 cup whole milk
1/4 cup grated cheese
- Preheat oven to 175°C.
- Layer the potatoes, followed by mixed vegetables, cottage cheese, yeast and carrots in an 8 x 8 inch casserole.
- Pour the milk on top of the layers.
- Sprinkle with grated cheese.
- Bake for 15 minutes, or until the cheese melts and is slightly browned.
- Let cool before serving.
Yield : 1 8x 8 inch square
And this is what the two girls had for their dinner tonight. Apparently this recipe is also suitable for felines, because the actual name of this recipe is Potatoes Au Canine/Feline!
