JellyHeartified!
I finally managed to get hold of the legendary jellyhearts! It doesn’t come cheap though. A box of 20 jellyhearts costs $15, and that’s only because I joined an online spree, hence we managed to get bulk discount.
For the uninitiated, jellyhearts was first introduced in Singapore early this year by an ingenious lady. It’s actually a cheesecake with the crust layer at the bottom, followed by a thin cream cheese layer topped with a heart-shaped strawberry ‘encased’ in a layer of jelly.
I had 2 servings of it before writing this post, and I must say that I really love it! It helps that I like jelly as much as I like cheese, I suppose.
I am fortunate enough to know someone who has the recipe, and she was also kind enough to share it with me. Thanks dear! The problem is, I haven’t manage to locate a 1-inch heart-sharped cookie cutter, hence I haven’t given it a try yet. I am now thinking of making one myself so that I can try making it this weekend.
Heh… let me go sleep on it…
Urmmm…. please don’t ask me where to get these jellyhearts. I have no idea myself. The mobile number to contact the lady who makes them is in the first picture. So go ahead and give her a ring if you’re interested to find out more!

Hey, I thought Cottage pies sell the exact ones!
They have branches in Tampines and White sands.

The original recipe has a thin layer of cheese(250g) and a thick layer of jelly(2pkts). I prefer thicker cheese and thinner jelly,so the recipe given to you was modified to 500g cheese and a pkt of jelly.
so laylian is your friend, CY? think she dropped by my blog b4 too, that is if she’s the same person. for a moment i was wondering who she is coz she didnt introduce herself.
u have a recipe for that? cool..can share? :p actually even without a recipe, i think its pretty straightforward, no? crust -> cream cheese -> strawberry heart -> jelly layer? hehe maybe i must try that too :p looks like the no-bake cherry cheesecake i did b4. i wonder why did the lady sell them so expensive.
Lux, think cottage pies takes its stock from the lady who makes them. Think if it’s not a bulk purchase, the lady will ask you to get individual boxes at cottage pies instead.
Lay Lian, thanks for the info. BTW, do you know where I can get the 1-inch heart-shaped cutters? I’ve tried Daiso and Phoon Huat… and they don’t have it in that size.
Evan, I knew Lay Lian through my blog.
It’s strange how blogs can help us make some new friends isn’t it? I’ve looked through the recipe, it’s troublesome to make it because there are so many layers and so much work to do it. Heh… I’m pretty lazy. Think the lady sells them so expensive because she’s the one who came up with this idea.
Let me check if I can share the recipe. Will get back to you.
yea CY, i totally agree! we can make new friends thru’ blogs, but u can also meet nasty characters *shudders*
anyway, it doesnt look like alot of work to me, coz i actually made something similar b4, with a jelly top layer made using the syrup of canned pitted cherries. this will be easier tho’, from what i see. but of coz i could be wrong. no recipe nvm, i can use a normal chilled cheesecake recipe :p thx dear.
Heh Evan, I’ve been quite fortunate so far not to meet nasty characters.
That’s the price to pay when your blog is good. Heh!
Cadenze, you can try sun lik but don’t wait too long to find the 1″cutter. I made do without one. Valerie Kong is still teaching the cheesecakes, jellyhearts and triple indulgence at various ccs. Her triple indulgence is yummy too,if you like oreo based baked cheese with dark choc ganache. Those of you who are interested, can email her at valsworkshop.yahoo.com.sg for the Nov workshops. I will be taking her Viennese Swirls and scottish workshop this coming 16 Nov. Though I have made both bakes before, her recipes are usually pretty reliable and simple. I can’t wait for her kueh lapis class in Jan 2007!(made 9 kueh lapis before using different recipes source from friends, and 3 from
reputable intructors,still not satisfied)
