Sweet Decadenze

- all about the sweet decadent world of cakes, pastries and more! -

I’m BACK… I hope…

It’s been more than a month since I last baked.  I really apologise for being so inconsiderate, and I thank the 5,000 over hits in November in spite of my inactivity on the blog.

Well… I baked last weekend.  It wasn’t exactly that I have all the time in the world for that indulgence; more like I had to, out of necessity.  You see, I’ve promised my sis to bake some cookies for her to give out as X’mas gifts, and I can’t go back on my word.

In total, I’ve baked 4 types of cookies for her ‘order’.  The first three were More Melting Moments, Cornflake Cookies and Scottish Shortbread, cookies I’ve had baked at least once before.  The fourth I’ve baked last night were the Horlicks Doggie Cookies, its recipe being first printed on The Sunday Times in early June this year.

Now, I have 132 More Melting Moments, 58 Cornflake Cookies, 48 slices of Scottish Shortbread and 54 Horlicks Doggie Cookies kept in airtight containers and sitting on my dining table, waiting to be packaged nicely.  The past few days had been sheer torture for some members of my family unit, including The Hubby and The Canines.  Because I ain’t sure how many of each I need for the 6 containers my sis selected, I disallowed anyone from tasting the cookies once I’ve packed them in the containers.  My sis had no idea how the More Melting Moments taste like, no one knows how the Scottish Shortbread tastes like, and no one except The Hubby knows how the Horlicks Doggie Cookies taste like.  However, none of us is as pathetic as my retrievers.  They have tasted none of the cookies, yet it doesn’t stop them from begging or drooling my whole floor wet!

In my leisure, I’ll write a new post on the Horlicks Doggie Cookies.  And I’ll take some pictures tonight after packing the cookies into the containers, with some help from my fastidious sis, of course.

  2. Hi tweetybird,

Thanks for dropping a comment. I appreciate it.

Guess I’m still going to bake infrequently due to work. I have so many recipes I wish to share, but I refuse to post them till I have tried and tested them.

    See you around!
