Aid for the Kitchen!

The picture above speaks volumes for itself, doesn’t it?
Yes! At this moment, there is a pink Artisan series KitchenAid sitting proudly on top of my black granite counter-top in my kitchen. I shan’t go into the full details about how I finally decided on the pink KitchenAid; let’s just say that I left home awfully certain that I will get the white one, but somehow ended up shortlisting the pink, pistachio and ice blue ones.
It took me a good ten minutes to decide on what I want, and I finally settled on the pink in support of the Breast Cancer Foundation (some of the proceeds from the sale of pink KitchenAids goes to the Breast Cancer Foundation of Singapore) although I am really not a ‘pink person’.

I’ve been on quite a shopping spree recently. After attending the cupcakes workshop on the Friday which just passed, I left Chip Bee Gardens considerably poorer. I bought the ‘Super-Value Level 2 Cupcake Baking Set (above) at Shermay’s, but that’s not before I splurged on a candy thermometer and tea towel at Pantry Magic. The hubby couldn’t help but lament at his plight when he saw the new stuff I brought home after attending another cupcake class (go to here to see what I bought after my Level I cupcake workshop).
On a hindsight, the hubby should be glad I went home with small shopping bags. I couldn’t decide on whether I should get the silpat, the madagascar bourbon vanilla paste, and the valrhona chocolate with varying %s of cocoa content, but once I’ve made up my mind to get them, I guess it’ll be another ‘bleeding session’ for my pockets.

Congrats! That’s a really lovely pc of equipment to have in the kitchen
Thank you, Elyn. I see that you are baking a lot more often from your blog. And some of your bakes are so interesting!
Oh… you will so enjoy your Kitchen Aid. I have the pistachio coloured one and loving it every day…
Hi,
You must have tasted many different type of Valrhona chocolate. I’m a beginner into this luxury chocolate- which type are your recommendation (for chocolate moulding / homemade chocolate)
Thanks!
hello, i was surfing around and somehow landed on your website. I attended Joycelyn’s class on Sunday and it was my first time. After reading your blog, I couldn’t agree more about your shopping spree. I came home poorer too! I resisted the urge to walk into Pantry Magic but those bright and colourful tools just caught my eye! I so wanted to get every single color, thank god I didn’t!
I love Kitchen Aid but it’s so expensive here. On Amazon, it cost US$399 but they wont deliver to SG. My friend got her US friend to buy and bring it back for her! I’m eyeing on the Red one, I guess having a Kitchen Aid is like us saying, we don’t need any other mixer anymoer and that anything we make will taste damn good? hahaha
