I promise this will be the last of any post on pineapple tarts. For this year, that is. I just can’t resist posting up these 2 pics after a massive baking project over the weekend.
Rows and rows of piping hot tarts cooling on the rack after removing from the oven.
Into the tubs they go!
I am halfway through fulfilling the orders […]

I’m feeling happy and troubled at the same time; happy because my tarts apparently taste good enough to warrant unsolicited sales enquiries, but troubled because I am running on such a tight schedule. It doesn’t help that the coming Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday nights have been reserved for reunion dinners and that I’m flying off to Japan […]

The verdict is out, and I’m happy to annouce that I do not have to give up baking pineapple tarts for good! I am not boasting, but I think of tarts that I’ve been making for the past 4 years and I think this year’s beats them all thumbs down.

They are my absolute favourite and a must-have during Chinese New Year, even more so over love-letters, kueh lapis, cornflake cookies and bak kwa. And if you ask me, I think my Ah Kim bakes the best pineapple tarts in the world! She makes the best pastry (salty enough for my liking) and she cooks […]

I don’t know the origin of Sugee Cookies, but I believe this sort of cookies is one of a kind since it requires the use of semolina flour. Not many cookies out there require the usage of such flour.
I am just so mad at myself, for I wanted to bake some of these cookies with local […]

Oh well, I have to give myself some leeway. Afterall, it […]

Many visitors to my blog continue to ask me for the recipe of the jellyhearts. I feel compelled to repeat myself; I am not able to share the recipe because I am not able to obtain the permission of both the creator of the recipe or the person who shared it with me. I implore […]

As promised, here are the pics of some of the cookies I baked for my sis over the last weekend. Just packed them into the containers a couple of days ago. And thankfully I met her deadline.
These are the 3 sizes of cookies containers we’ve gotten. She requested for a total of 2 large, 3 medium […]

It’s been more than a month since I last baked. I really apologise for being so inconsiderate, and I thank the 5,000 over hits in November in spite of my inactivity on the blog.
Well… I baked last weekend. It wasn’t exactly that I have all the time in the world for that indulgence; more like I had […]
