Hello everyone! Decided to update this blog with a post just in case some of you are getting really worried about what happened to me.
I’m still well and alive… well, maybe not as well as I claim to be. I’ve actually settled down in the new job quite nicely, and was thinking of starting baking […]

I am back, but there’s no saying that I might ‘disappear’ once in a while again.
Just a little update which is befitting since we are coming to the end of July and I’ve been away from the blog for almost a month. I started on my new job about mid-way through July, and […]

There are wedding favours, and then there are ROM favours.
For the benefit of non-local readers (if any), I shall explain what ROM refers to. In the strictest sense, ROM refers to the Registry of Marriage in Singapore but we Singaporeans who are fond of abbreviating everything have taken to calling the solemnization of a marriage […]

… is a very painful wrist!
I apologise for the lack of updates recently; I’d somehow hurt my wrist last week while working hard at fulfilling some orders and have been avoiding doing anything which requires me to use it, including baking.

Strictly speaking, this post isn’t a soliloquy (but it will be long) because I do have an intended audience - my blog readers. So do pardon me for the lack of a better title.
It’s been almost a year since I started this baking blog. In the course of this 11 months and more, I’ve encountered numerous […]

Didn’t I say I was going to make another attempt soon?
Well, I wanted to try it out again on Monday, but the NTUC I went to didn’t have strawberries! And so, I was compelled to postpone my plans till today (after The Hubby kindly went out to get the strawberries for me).
Did some […]

Ended up that my biscotti became such a hit with men! The Hubby loved it (to my pleasant surprise) so much he had them for breakfast when I initially packed 5 slices for his supper at work, C’s husband loved it, and same goes for her colleague who was there for the movie night too.
Having received much […]

Biscotti are traditionally dry and crisp Italian cookies, and when loosely translated, means “twice baked” owing to the fact that they are usually baked twice. Different regions in Italy have also developed their unique ways of flavouring or consuming these endearing cookies.
Finding good and value-for-money biscotti in Italy is not an issue at all, but once you step out […]

Attended a workshop conducted by Pastry Chef Hannah Wong of The Patissier at Shermay’s yesterday afternoon. There was no hands-on; it was just a demo and food tasting session.
On the whole, it was a rather hectic session, with Hannah rushing to complete all 3 cake recipes:- Tiramisu, Chocolate Fudge and Pavlova. I was barely coping […]
